Taylor's First Day of Kindergarten!

Taylor, I can’t believe it’s your very first day of Kindergarten. It seems like just yesterday, you were a tiny bundle in my arms, the first time I met you, my heart was racing, because I was so happy to see your beautiful face.

Taylor, I wanted to tell you, if you can believe it, I remember my very own first day of kindergarten! I was a little bit scared because I didn’t know what to expect. Just like you, I went to Stanford J. Gibson Elementary School. Once I got there, I had so much fun. My teacher’s name was Mrs. Curly and I had so many friends; we painted, sang songs, and even got to go outside on the playground!

I wonder if other 5 year olds are a little bit scared on their first day of school. What do you think? It’s O.K. to be scared; you can even talk to your new teacher about your feelings. I can’t wait to hear all about your first day at school. I’m wondering about what exciting things you will do? Will you paint? Will you hear a funny story? Will you sing a song? And, what if you go outside on the playground??? That sure would be fun!

We love you & we’re thinking of you on your special, special day.
Just think about it, when Norah is ready to go off to kindergarten, you can teach her all about it. Lots of love, Aunt Christy, Uncle Larry & Cousin Norah xoxox

Thank you for being such a great Aunt and remembering Taylor on her bid day! I just checked the blog as a little distraction from my morning and I got to cry all over again!

Taylor is off to a great start! We of course took pictures on the front porch which we will e-mail to you! Taylor was mostly excited, a little nervous, and really looking forward to trying out the new playgrounds at school, and eating in the cafeteria. Fran Nial has organized fundraising for the last few years and they now have three new playgrounds at Gibson. We got to be at the grand opening of the "Billy Brookins Memorial Playground" yesterday. Mrs. Blaisure seems very nice and Taylor met some of her new friends at the open house.

Mommy was the only one to cry this morning, but I don't think Taylor saw my tears as she was already walking down the hall to her classroom.

I consider this page one of the next chapter in our book..... It will be filled with many emotions: proud, sad, happy, hopeful, scared, and many more I'm sure!

Hope Norah is doing well! Her cousins will be happy to teach her about school when she gets ready. She has many other big days to experience before that!

Love and miss you lots,
Jennifer

Good morning Abrams family,

Christy, what a wonderful blog you have written to Taylor. You sure do remember kindergarten very well.
The only memory I would add to your experience would be that your Mom thought she was going to have to go to school with you everyday. When she returned a few hours later to walk home with you, you were most annoyed because you wanted to walk home with your new friends. It didn't take but a few hours for you to become the independent woman we know today. Larry, what are your memories of kindergarten?

Reading Jennifer's comment to you made me cry. Thinking of all the years of adventures and wonderful accomplishments our Whispell girls have gone though makes us so very proud to have been part of your lives. The three of you have loving husbands and now the six of you are parents of such wonderful children. Your Mom and Dad certainly were great role models as you grew up.

The comment that made me smile was thinking of Taylor and Logan telling Norah all about kindergarten five years from now.
Can't you just hear the giggles between them!

Norah certainly does look pretty in pink, your favorite color when you were growing up. When we drive through Sodus,NY we always look for "Christy's house",pink of course. You even wanted pink macaroni and cheese.

All our love to Mat,Papa, and Norah,
Uncle John and Aunt Sandy

Hello finally from AZ! I'm sorry, I've been sick, virus I guess. Doing some better.

Love the new pictures and everyone's comments. Had to catch up. Somewhere along the line I missed what "Mat" means, mother? Mom? Please let me know.

I have to add to Jenn's comments, before you turn around Norah will be in college and then married!!!! It truly feels that way. Enjoy every precious second. As I have told you many times, I always felt that if I could only freeze each stage/moment in my memory. Never worked, but I tried. As you are already seeing, Norah is changing at a rapid pace. It feels hard to keep up with where they are in the present, much less remember everything past.

She's sooooo beautiful, you three make a beautiful family. Can't wait to see you and give everyone a hug and kiss (es) in person. It sounds like Norah is right on target for her development. She'll have you two hopping when you get her home :-)

Allyson is well. Working, taking classes. She visited West Chester University, got even more excited.

Brittany and Victor are good. Brittany finished her jury duty. Interesting, educational she said.

Love from Uncle Jim and Aunt Debbie, miss you guys, be safe.

Hello Abrams Family! Greetings from Binghamton, NY where Uncle Bob has his first day of school LOL

Christy, not that there was ever any doubt, but reading your words to Taylor confirms that you already have that "mother gene". You handled that like a pro. Norah is very lucky to have such great parents and you and Larry are blessed to have such a beautiful little girl.

I know that right now it seems forever away, but before you know it, you will all be back in Pennsylvania doing the things families do as they grow together. What a wonderful future for all of you (and Norah's extended family).

Take care. Safe journey.

Hi there Christy, Larry and Baby Norah,

I am sitting here reading your blog and just weeping with joy for the three of you. Norah is absolutely beautiful, but you know that already. What a journey you have taken, memories that will last for the rest of your lives.

Hope you don't mind me writing, I'm always interested in what news Debbie has to pass on about baby Norah, today she gave me the blog address. Your trip is fasinating, but I know you are ready to all come home. Hopefully a trip to AZ is in the picture soon, I would love to come and see you all. Hopefully Debbie wouldn't mind.

My thoughts are with you and what you are experiencing right now, all the emotions you are all feeling, being first time parents and the love you feel for your new baby.

I know your world is wonderful right now, I am so happy for you both, here i go crying again, take care,

Love Irene (CA)
