"Spa-SEE-ba" Thank you for all the comments!

Today we went to a European Micro Brewery and had our first beer in Kazakhstan-it was delicious, we also enjoyed potato pancakes, there are many potato dishes here; pierogies, dumplings, crepes, mashed potatoes on every menu-Yum O!! The food is truly amazing-next to Norah, we have more pictures of the plates of food then anything. In addition to our interpreter Olesya, we have another beautiful guide/interpreter who keeps us busy, “Nelly” she works at our hotel, but also works with us to teach us the culture-she is very warm friendly and did I mention beautiful. Today, she took us to a movie ‘Ratatouille’-the American movie although it was in Russian and yesterday we went to the Kostanai museum of history. Larry loves to have all the menus translated-he is just fascinated with how wonderful the food is. Tomorrow we go to a Shish-kabob restaurant that is a bit out of town-this will be the first time we haven’t walked-we walk every place-which is great. The weather continues to be beautiful, warm and always breezy. Mommy has a cold and unfortunately couldn’t go to the Baby House today-so it was Daddy’s day with Norah. He reports she ate very well and didn’t even laugh at Daddy when he put a scarf on his head! She is very playful and rolled all over the room. Daddy brought back great mini-movies for Mommy to show her all that went on. Every day is an adventure. We love the posts please keep them coming!!!

Hi again. Sounds like all is well there. Hope you feel better Christy. Norah must be over her cold, and of course she shared it with Mommy! Better get used to that!

Food sounds like the Whispell's would fit right in!

Girls are in Norwich for a couple of days. Aunt Sandy and Uncle John should be there today also. They are doing well (girls). I leave on Sat. and Brittany comes home on Sat. I'm looking forward to time with Allyson, but it will be very difficult to leave her.

We love all of the wonderful pictures! As well as your notes. I look forward to them every day. I'm glad all is going well for you three. We are all just so very happy for you and we see the joy in your eyes. That means the world to all of us. Can't wait to meet her!!!

Stay safe, glad you are enjoying some of the local things. Love you all very much, Deb

Hope that Mommy and Norah are both feeling better now. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the cuisine! I know how food is a comfort thing for Christy, and that Larry truly appreciates a good meal. If you have any photos of interesting food we would love to see them on the blog also!

Brittany and Allyson just left for their drive back to your house in PA; Uncle Mike was kind enough to print them directions so hopefully they will not see any of NJ on this trip! : ) We loved having them at our house, the kids of course got every ounce of attention they could from them - playing restaurant, putting on makeup etc.!

We also had lunch (at Nina's of course) with Aunt Sandy and Uncle John followed by ice cream cake for dessert to celebrate Uncle John's 70th Birthday! It was great to have everyone together for the afternoon!

Glad to hear that Larry got a day of Daddy/daughter time with Norah before he came home. I only wish we could see a picture of him with the scarf on his head. I'm sure Sunday will be a difficult day for all of you...hopefully the 2 1/2 weeks will pass by quickly! Christy - between Mom/Dad, Debbie, Aunt Sandy, and us we will be sure that you speak to someone from home each day that Larry is gone. Mike did set us up with that phone service on the computer but we still need to get a microphone to try it out.

Lots of love to the three of you,
Jennifer

Hi from Oswego,
Uncle John just received one of the best birthday presents ever from our neighbors(in Louise's house),they helped us figure out our posting problem. With any luck this message will be headed your way. We're blogging!

WE had a wonderful afternoon in Norwich on Thurs. Allyson and Brittany both look wonderful. Taylor and Logan just ate up the time and attention they were getting from their two beautiful cousins from Az. Both T. and L. have new jokes for you when you see them. It pleased Uncle John to hear Logan tell the girls about riding on Uncle John's big,big tractors. The birthday party for Uncle John was a great surprise.
How thoughtful everyone was.

Hope you are feeling better today Christy. Summer colds are just not pleasant but nice it gave Daddy his own Norah time.

I've been curious about Norah's speech development. Does she do vocal play like bah,bah bah or trying to imitate a sound you make?
What sounds does she make when she's happy or excited?

We wish Larry s safe trip back to Pa. We'll be calling or blogging
each day he is gone. How thankful we are that your Pa friends will be there while Larry is home.

Love to you all,Aunt Sandy

Hey Kostanaians,
I love to check-in all the time & see your updates. I hope you're feeling better & am glad you're getting to test all the great cuisine & I totally agree with the idea of mash potatoes on every menu!! I shared this blog address with Kevin yesterday & he opened it while I was still on the phone & noted just as the rest of us have, that Norah is beautiful!! *sigh* Poor thing, everyone, everywhere admiring the heck out of her!! (=
Take care & feel better, Love, Nan
