ALL IS WELL!

Hello all!
From my perspective, Norah's medical review went very well today. Dr. Irina (The Orphanage Director) was very gracious. She shared that she was pleased with "baby Irina" going home with such a happy, young Mother (she may not realize I'm 40! But hey, 40's the new 20!). Ironically, Norah's first & last name are exactly the same as the Orphanage Director's. Also, Norah's Birth Mother has the same first name as our coordinator 'Olesya'. I found out today that Norah did have an pneumonia as a baby, she bounced back after treatment. The Doctor reported she was of excellent birth weight and height (as soon as I compute the figures of the metric system I'll let you know her current weight & birth weight). Her Birth Mother carried her full term, which is anther good indicator. Her Birth Mother was in labor for 6 hours & 40 minutes. It was reported that her birth parents are young and healthy, and due to the birth Mother's young age (19), she could not financially take care of Norah. Norah's Birth Mother is of Russian heritage with fair hair and grey eyes. Her birth Father is of Kazak heritage and has brown hair and brown eyes. I saw the "letter of relinquishment" that Norah's Birth Mother had to write for the file-it was written by hand in Russian, I almost started crying, because I just can't imagine how difficult it must of been for her to write this letter.

After the medical review, I received an amazing full tour of the baby house. It's truly an immaculate place, full of many, large, airy, light rooms, beautiful enormous windows, high, open ceilings, pretty, happy colors on all the walls. They even have a swimming pool! At the end of the tour they gave me homemade bread (delicious) and a cup of a warm lemony tea. It was very nice-I'm so sorry Larry missed it. Maybe they'll give him a sneak peek once he returns. Enjoy the new pictures. Unfortunately, Norah has some bug bites on her face, but they don't seem to bother her. Love, Christy

Good morning from Oswego,

Sounds like you had a good morning with a great medical report. Your tour of the baby house sounds interesting.

I think you are 20 and not 40,but what a young 40 you are. To us 40 is very, very young. Norah will definitely make you young no matter what your actual age.

Loved your new picture. Both of you girls show your love in your beautiful eyes. What caused her bug bites? Hope they're not itchy.

Family news-Uncle Bob is in Wilson hospital in Binghamton. Yesterday, he was using a shop vac to clean up some water and picked it up twice to empty it.
He experienced pressure in his chest so he called 911. They observed him overnight and did a stress test this morning. As of an hour ago, he was waiting for the doctor to come in to discuss their findings. It's nice to have Carlee there for him and to share news with us.

Are Amy and Galen still there with you? How are their two little ones doing? Do you get to see or spend time with each others children?

I know you are counting the hours until Papa returns to Mat and Lala Norah. We'll be happy to know when he is back too.

Take care.
All our love,Aunt Sandy

Hello Mat Christy and Lala Norah!
First, let me tell you that Uncle Bob is home and feeling much better. AND...he promises not to lift the Shop Vac full of water ever again!! He had a little bout of nausea and weakness after his stress test today, but the doctor said it may have been "over doing" from the test. Any way....he is much better and he is home. YAY!!!!

The new pictures are lovely, as always. You and Norah show the love between you in your bright eyes and glowing smiles. Just wait to see the two of you light up when PaPa gets there. You are all so very lucky to have found each other. Aunt Sandy, Uncle John, Uncle Bob, and I all ended up at your grandfather and Eunice's on Sunday. We were looking at some of your pictures and talking about what a wonderful book/movie Journey to Norah would make. This blog and all the comments will be a great treasure for Lala Norah someday. She will get to see how excited everyone was that she was becoming part of the family and how very much she was/is loved and wanted by all of your family and friends!

Only two and a half more days till Papa gets to join his two "best girls". Then the Abrams family will be together again! Soon, you will be together forever back home in PA!

Take care, Christy and Norah....and safe passage to you Larry. We'll write again soon.
Love, Carlee and Uncle Bob

Hi from Jim and Deb-

Sorry we haven't been on in a while, I just caught up on everything. Belated happy sixth month birthday to Norah, I talked with you on saturday though. It sounds like all is going well. It will be even better when Larry gets back to you both.

I know that your decision was very hard, but I'm sure that you need to be "re-charged." This will benefit all 3 of you. I know how decisions are in this family :-)

All is well here. Girls, Victor are all good. We of course miss Allyson like crazy. She starts class on monday the 27th.

We look forward to your comments and pictures each time. Keep 'em comin! Be safe. Give Norah lots of love from everyone here. Miss you and love you so much, Deb & Jim

Christy,

I hope you are feeling better. Food poisoning, yuck!!!!!
Give Norah a big hug and kiss for me for her 6th month birthday.
Glad to hear all is well with her. The tour of the baby house sounds really neat. What an amazing experience you have had.
20 huh? You will always be a kid at heart.
I know making the decision to come home must have been very difficult for you. I have been thinking a lot about you and wondering if you would come home for awhile. Just remember that Norah will be fine and so will you. Before you know it you and Larry will be back there picking that beautiful little baby up to take home to PA.

Love you,

Cindy
